Our Story
From the start of the pandemic, those hit hardest and fastest by the COVID-19 shutdowns and restrictions are workers in the hospitality industry. That’s why we’ve rolled out HOOK HALL HELPS.
Through Hook Hall Helps, area hospitality workers receive meals and supplies provided through the generous support of the greater Washington, DC community. To support local restaurants, we compensate kitchens for providing the meals, and a way for us to stay connected and give back during these difficult times.
To support the initiative, you can donate to the Worker’s Relief Fund created in partnership with the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington's (RAMW) or purchase one of our partner's special offers to support our efforts.
Learn more about how you can volunteer, or if you’re a kitchen, please consider signing up to provide meals.

UNITING FOR HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY WORKERS
The community members who are being hit the fastest and hardest by the unexpected COVID-19 pandemic are the area’s hospitality workers. With recent limitioans on gatherings, venue restrictions, and with many restaurants and bars closed or forced to have limited seating, many workers are suddenly faced with the reality of furloughs/being laid-off. Those who still have jobs are seeing huge reductions in their hours, and much uncertainty around how and when their next paycheck will arrive.
During this time, we want to come together with partners to provide a safe, clean, and dignified way to provide supportive services to hospitality workers. Our goals are to:
--Access free nutritional meals and needed groceries/supplies.
-- Access to the best and most up-to-date information on services/programs the city is providing,
-- Provide digital education through core partnerships so Industry workers can enhance their resume during the downtime.
-- Provide respite during otherwise uncertain times.
Hook Hall Care Kits
In partnership with Gordon's and FoodPro we will be assembling care kits for pickup at Hook Hall. These include shelf stable foods and paper goods, such as peanut butter, toilet paper, packaged soup, granola bars, trail mix, cereals and coffee/tea. Creature comforts during this time are crucial – and chocolate always helps! We will continue to provide these kits throughout the duration of the coronavirus pandemic, as long as supplies last.
Hospitality Unites

-- Acceso a comidas nutricionales gratuitas y comestibles / suministros necesarios.
